Morara Kebaso Calls for National Cleanup on Mashujaa Day

Renowned activist and civic educator Morara Kebaso has announced a symbolic nationwide cleanup exercise in Narok, set to take place on Mashujaa Day, October 20th.

The cleanup will honor Kenya’s fallen and standing heroes, and Kebaso has urged Kenyans to participate in large numbers.

The meeting point for the Narok cleanup will be communicated soon.

Kebaso’s initiative, under the hashtag #FagiaKwako, encourages Kenyans to clean up their homes, streets, and communities in a nationwide effort.

In a video shared on social media, he emphasized the importance of civic education over protests, responding to calls for demonstrations.

“To those advocating for protests against government failures, I agree with you,” Kebaso said, “but we need to build momentum first.

Civic education is crucial to create national consensus for the changes we desire.”

He stressed that the responsibility to drive change lies with every Kenyan, not just the youth or those in urban areas.

Kebaso hopes to see communities unite in tackling pressing issues like corruption, healthcare failures, and tribalism.

Kebaso, recently in the spotlight for being arrested twice and charged with incitement, remains committed to advancing civic education as a path to democratic reform.
