Senior Economic Advisor at State House, Moses Kuria, has congratulated Former President Uhuru Kenyatta for gaining full control of the Jubilee party.
In a statement shared on his official X account on Thursday, June 12, 2025, Kuria commended Uhuru Kenyatta for reclaiming leadership of the Jubilee Party, noting that as political tensions and divisions in Kenya intensify the party, under his leadership has a crucial role in maintaining national unity and ensuring the country’s stability.
“Congratulations, my senior brother, President Uhuru Kenyatta, for winning back control of the Jubilee Party. At a time when there is a competition to burn Kenya through escalation, emotions and divisions, the Jubilee Party under your stewardship has a major role to play in keeping Kenya safe. The future is luminous,” Kuria stated.
Kuria’s congratulatory message comes after the former president secured a significant legal victory in his bid to reclaim leadership of the Jubilee Party, a crushing blow to a rebel faction that had sought to wrest the outfit from his leadership.
In a ruling delivered on Thursday, June 12, 2025, the High Court validated the resolutions of the Jubilee Party’s Special National Delegates Convention (SNDC) held in May 2023, which reinstated Uhuru as party leader and restructured the party’s top leadership.
The court’s decision also affirms Saitoti Torome as the new National Chairman and Jeremiah Kioni as Secretary-General, formally ousting the rival faction led by East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) MP Kanini Kega.
The legal turnaround was triggered by Jubilee chairman Nelson Dzuya’s surprise decision to withdraw his support from the Kega-led group and file a consent recognising the legitimacy of the SNDC.
The move was formalised through lawyer Jackson Awele and supported by a fresh legal team representing the party’s Internal Dispute Resolution Committee (IDRC).
The decision marks a political resurgence for Uhuru, who has maintained a low profile since leaving office in September 2022 but has remained quietly influential within opposition circles.
Uhuru’s return to the helm of Jubilee now positions him more firmly within the country’s shifting political landscape, particularly ahead of the 2027 general elections.
