Moses Wetangula expels two rebel MPS and Busia MCA over attempted coup

Ford Kenya party has expelled Tongaren member of parliament and his counterpart Kanduyi MP Wafula Wamunyinyi – By Enock Mukoma.

This is according to the decision of the National Executive Council meeting held on Monday.

The party resolved to expel a Busia nominated MCA Cynthia Mutere from the party.

In a statement signed by the party, acting secretary-general Millicent Abudho cautioned Ford Kenya party members and supporters not to engage with the trio on any matters regarding the matter.

Apparently this could be a reaction by the party leader in response to an earlier coup by the two that had him ousted as the party leader

Registrar of political parties Ann Nderitu in June gazetted the removal of Moses Wetangula as Ford Kenya party leader, in the Gazette notice no 3893, recognizing Hon Wamunyi as the new leader.

Joseph Maungu, was National Organizing Secretary. She however gave a seven-day notice for anyone to register disputes.

Apparently Wetangula led a meeting at Park Place in Magadi road out which the decision to expel the two was reached.

The meeting was convened against the conservatory order issued by the registrar of political parties on 14th noting that the party leadership matter is active in court with consequent orders in place.

Rebel Eseli had earlier written to members citing the express powers to convene such a meeting lies with the Secretary-general as stipulated in the party constitution.

‘’Article 24[a]of ford Kenya party constitution requires that the secretary-general is the one mandated to issue a notice for National executive council meetings and no other party official is mandated to do so.

In a quick response via twitter, DR Eseli laughed off the decision.

“Some people are saying they have expelled Wamunyinyi and Eseli from Ford Kenya I tell them for these jokes and others send an SMS with the word ‘’ weta a no …….’’.
