Bomet: School Closed Over Sodomy Incidents

Mosoriot Academy in Bomet County has been closed indefinitely following allegations of sodomy by a teacher.

County Education Ministry officials closed the school early Tuesday.
The male teacher was detained in Bomet County after allegedly sodomizing three students aged 11 to 13.

The suspect was taken to Konoin’s Mogogosiek Police Station awaiting arraignment over the heinous acts.

According to Konoin police Chief Tom Achiya, the suspect, Bernard Kirui, was apprehended after one of the minors complained of severe pain and was rushed to Litein Mission Hospital, where it was established that he had been sodomized.

Achiya said that his arrest was a result of complaints from the school staff.
He further proceeded to say that preliminary investigations confirm that the said teacher had been sleeping in the boy’s dormitory despite having a designated room at the school quarters.
