Mother of the late MMU student Sylvia Kemunto breaks silence

    The family to the late Sylvia Kemunto, a first-year student at MMU has explained how the murder of their daughter mutilated their only hope and extinguished their light as a family.

    The mother to the late Sylvia who told media that she raised raised and educated her daughter as a single mother through selling groceries at a Kibanda located at Kawangware area in Nairobi.

    She could not control her tears as a Nairobi City Lawyers Danstan Omari and Shedrack Wambui consoled her promising to follow the case to the bitter end and ensure that the family gets justice.

    Omari has promised to hire and pay for a private pathologist for the family to be present during Sylvia’s autopsy.

    Further, Advocate Danstan Omari and Shedrack Wambui have promised to represent the victim’s family in court on a pro-bono basis.

    The Advocates also supplied the family with other household items such as sugar, cooking flour, cooking oil and rice.

    Sylvia is believed to have been murdered by her alleged ex- boyfriend who allegedly dumped the body in a tank at Multimedia University hostels.

    According to court documents, preliminary investigations indicates that the deceased and suspect were both first year students at Multi media University pursuing Bachelor of science Electrical Engineering and telecommunications and Bachelor of Mathematics for computer science respectively and we’re both in a relationship since September 2024.

    However, it is alleged that the late Kemunto ended the relationship in February this year, but Mutinda was still persistent and continued harassing her until her untimely demise.
