A motorist has been gunned down in a shocking daylight murder along Magadi Road.
According to eyewitnesses, the assailant, fully hooded and carrying a firearm, opened fire at close range before making a swift getaway on a waiting motorbike.
The incident unfolded in full view of commuters, sending passengers on nearby vehicles diving for cover.
One witness, posting on a Facebook group described the chilling moment. “The motorist was shot, the shooter escaped via a waiting bodaboda rider. He just walked briskly past our bus, gun in hand. He was fully hooded,” the post read.
Police sources say the victim was attacked while seated inside his vehicle. The victim’s identity has not yet been confirmed.
The brazen nature of the attack has raised fresh concerns over rising insecurity along Magadi Road and its environs, where motorists have previously reported incidents of robbery and harassment.
DCI Detectives rushed to the scene moments after the shooting, cordoning off the area as they launched a manhunt for the assailant and his accomplice.
Police are expected to issue a formal statement later tonight as investigations continue.
