Drivers accessing the busy Bomas-Kiserian (B19) will experience severe interruptions starting August 28, 2025, when The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) begins the construction of two box culverts.

The construction update section will be from Brookhouse/Galleria (Km 0+500) to Catholic University of Eastern Africa (Km 1+000) and will be closed for 2 months. Construction is expected to be completed by 20th October 2025.

Bomas-Kiserian and the corridor connecting Nairobi is the southern suburbs are critical to the region and will increase the traffic in the temporarily closed area add to the traffic congestion for the surrounding region.

To improve the situation, two diversion routes have been established.

Route 1: Langata Road → Langata South Road → Kiboko Road → Banda Lane → Magadi Road

Route 2: Langata Road → Langata South Road → Kiboko Road → Mukoma Road → Magadi Road (near Shell Petrol Station)

KeNHA has encouraged drivers to the road to comply with traffic officers and diversion sign, and to avoid the construction area as the delays are going to be significantly long.
