A group of United Democratic Alliance leaders has proposed that deputy president William Ruto choose Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro as his running mate.
Ndindi is a seasoned politician who has been well mentored, according to the leaders, and thus qualifies for the coveted position.
The leaders that joined Ruto on his visit to Murang’a county, led by Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua, showered admiration on Nyoro for his continuous support for the DP’s presidential bid.
“Ndindi has proven to be a capable leader, and if he is promoted, he will be able to better serve the country,” Gachagua added.
“His development track record speaks for itself, and it demonstrates that he has the capacity to do better things,” he continues.
However, this may be a bone of contention in the Kenya Kwanza alliance.
ANC Party Leader Musalia Mudavadi has been seen as a front runner for the position, alongside Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua.
Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala has been on record demanding the DP Position be delivered to Musalia Mudavadi for delivering the Luhya vote.
However, Rigathi Gachagua has on several occasions differed with ANC, claiming that the position is not a gurantee.
DP Ruto was unveiled as the UDA flagbearer, and his candidature is yet to pick a running mate.
