Mozzart Bet Injects Ksh 20 Million into National Super League

Mozzart Bet Kenya Limited has thrown a lifeline to the National Super League (NSL) by pumping in over Ksh 20 million ahead of the 2025/26 season.

The betting giant has partnered with three ambitious clubs—3K FC (Embu), Migori Youth (Migori), and Kisumu All Stars (Kisumu)—to support their operations in a deal that is expected to transform the league’s landscape.

Under the agreement, each team will receive Ksh 5 million in sponsorship, plus an additional Ksh 1 million for merchandise and branding. The clubs will also wear Mozzart Bet and Mozzart Sport-branded jerseys, while match days will provide marketing platforms for the firm.

This sponsorship comes at a crucial time for the NSL, which has struggled to attract corporate partners since the exit of Bamba Sport in 2019. At the time of Mozzart’s entry, only five clubs in the league had stable income, while the majority survived on fans’ goodwill and well-wishers’ support. The new partnership increases the number of financially stable clubs to nine.

For 3K FC, the sponsorship is historic. Since its inception, the Embu-based club—currently in its second NSL season—has never enjoyed commercial backing. Known for pulling in large crowds at Moi Stadium, the team averages 5,000 fans per home game. Assistant coach Moses Munene hailed the deal as life-changing:

“This is a massive boost for the team and the players. For the first time, our players will be on payroll. The community will rally behind us in every match, which spells good times for the club and Mozzart. Our ultimate goal is promotion.”

Kisumu All Stars (Otenga) have perhaps felt the impact of financial struggles the most. Once on the verge of promotion in 2023/24 and 2024/25, the club’s ambitions collapsed after the Kisumu County Government withdrew funding, forcing the team to dish out walkovers. Team Manager Rashid Ochieng believes Mozzart’s support will reignite their dream of top-tier football.

Migori Youth, shifting their home matches to Awendo Green Stadium this season, are also set for their tenth campaign in the NSL. Like Kisumu, their promotion hopes have repeatedly been cut short by financial instability. With Mozzart’s backing, the club aims to mount a serious promotion charge.

The partnership is also a turning point for the league’s image. For years, the NSL’s lack of financial stability has raised questions about its professionalism. Now, with Mozzart’s injection of funds, the league is poised to become more competitive, improve player welfare, and foster local talent.

More importantly, the move is expected to attract other sponsors, raising hopes of a financially sustainable future for Kenya’s second-tier football.
