A middle-aged man was arraigned in court facing charges of intentionally withholding payment delivered erroneously contrary to the cybercrimes Act.
Albert Mwanda Mghana appeared before Chief magistrate Micheni Wendy where he denied the charges of retaining money send to his account erroneously.
According to the charges, Albert on December 23, 2022 withheld a transaction of Ksh 105,000 send to his mobile number by the complainant from his M-banking equity account using his mobile number in error.
The court was told that Albert defied requests to have him reverse the money to the sender prompting the complainant to launch a complaint with the Police.
He pleaded with the court to release him on a lenient cash bail stating that he had a young family.
He was released on a Bond of Ksh 100,000.
