Former Kabete MP, Hon. George Muchai met his untimely death with a single gunshot fired from a very high-velocity firearm.
The hearing of the murder of Hon. George Muchai, his driver Stephen Wambugu, and two bodyguards PC Samwel Lekakeny and PC Samwel Kimathi proceeded today in Court.
The prosecution tabled their 35th Witness, Dr. Johansen Oduor, a government pathologist. In his expert testimony, Dr. Oduor told Court that the late Hon. Muchai met his death through a single gunshot which caused multiple injuries in his body.
Dr. Johansen Oduor the government pathologist conducted a postmortem of the four bodies.
” My lord, after the postmortem I concluded that Hon. Muchai died as a result of multiple injuries due to a single gunshot fired from a very high velocity firearm at a close range.”
Dr. Oduor when asked to classify an example of a high velocity firearm he said that the assassinators either used a G3 or an AK47 rifle to murder the deceased.
Earlier on, Justice Justus Bwonong’a was told that it took less than one minute to kill Hon. Muchai, his driver and bodyguards.
In the case, Eric Isabwa, alias chairman Raphael Kimani, alias Kim butcher, Mustapha Kimani, alias Musto; Stephen Astiva, alias Chokore; Jane Wanjiru, alias Shiro; Margaret Njeri and Simon Wambugu were charged with the murder of the four.
The slain Kabete MP was killed on the morning of Saturday, February 7, 2015.
He had tried to reinforce his personal security before his driver, two body guards and himself were shot dead by a lone marksman suspected to have been either a skilled mercenary, hired assassin or police officer.
