Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Musalia Mudavadi, has paid tribute to the late Professor Arthur Obel, hailing him as one of Kenya’s most brilliant scientific minds whose work will continue to shape generations.
In his condolence message, Mudavadi praised Prof Obel’s lifelong dedication to research, describing it as a “treasure trove of scholarly works” that will inspire future thinkers, researchers and policymakers.
“Prof Obel’s remarkable contribution to scientific research is one that will continue to shape minds and narratives for years to come. He leaves behind a legacy that will inspire many to follow in his footsteps,” Mudavadi said.
Prof Obel, often regarded as one of Kenya’s most celebrated scientists, built a career spanning decades in which he made groundbreaking contributions to medical research. His work earned him recognition within Kenya and internationally, where he was respected as both a scholar and a pioneer.
Mudavadi extended his heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the late professor, wishing them comfort during what he described as an immeasurable loss not only to the family but to the wider academic and research community.
Prof Obel’s passing marks the end of an era in Kenya’s scientific scholarship, but his research and written works remain an enduring legacy.
