Mudavadi Party Threatens OKA Exit

The Amani National Congress (ANC), which has Musalia Mudavadi as its leader, has threatened to leave the One Kenya Alliance (OKA).

On Saturday, November 13, a group of ANC legislators led by Senator Cleophas Malala spoke out in Matunda, Kakamega County, demanding that the coalition pick its flagbearer before Christmas.

"We are telling our colleagues at the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) that we want to know the presidential candidate of the coalition by December 25. Otherwise we shall seek alternative partners elsewhere."

They went on to say that if they didn’t get their way, they’d pack their belongings and leave for a different coalition before the August 2022 elections.

"If we won't have known the presidential candidate who we know is Musalia Mudavadi, then we, as ANC, will decide to leave and form another alliance to deliver the presidency for Musalia Mudavadi," Butere MP Tindi Mwale added.

The coalition, which is led by Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper), Gideon Moi (KANU), and Moses Wetangula (Ford-Kenya), has yet to nominate a flagbearer.

All four leaders have vowed to clinch the alliance ticket despite allegations that they were out to scatter votes.

Raila and OKA leaders have had numerous public spats, with the latter accusing the former Prime Minister of betraying them.
