Mudavadi Receives Digi-Truck Literacy Program From Huawei

H.E. Dr. Musalia Mudavadi, the Prime Cabinet Secretary met with Mr. Tony Bao, the Global Vice President of Huawei, who is presently in Kenya for the Connected Africa Summit.

Prime CS Mudavadi was given the impact report of the Digi Truck Digital Literacy Skills Programme by the Huawei Kenya team, accompanied by Mr. Bao.

The Digi Truck is a free mobile classroom that teaches young people digital skills and computers while it travels throughout Kenya.

It has helped more than 4500 youth in 29 counties so far, and many of them have gone on to land employment or start their own businesses.

With the intention of training more youth, the truck is scheduled to resume its tour to other Kenyan counties.

The conversation also centred on enhancing young job prospects by providing them with digital skills and capacity building, which would ultimately contribute to the nation’s economic expansion.

Mr. Bao thanked the PCS for supporting the Huawei ICT Academy students and young causes.

The students were earlier flagged off by Mr. Mudavadi to take part in the international ICT competition in China in May 2023.

The meeting was also attended by Huawei Kenya’s Deputy CEO, Mr Steven Zhang, Global VP, and Directors of Public Affairs, Maureen Mwaniki and Khadija Mohammed
