Students from Multimedia University clashed with police on Magadi Road on Wednesday as they protested against the administration’s demand that all outstanding fees be paid by Friday.
The school stated in a memo released days before that all students must clear their fees by the end of this week, two months before the examination period.
“So the problem is that we have two months before we sit for the exam, and the administration is saying anyone who will not have complied with the system will be locked out of the exam register,” one of the students said.
” This in return means one won’t be in the school system and hence will have to repeat the whole semester which will be after one year.”
Students are pleading with the administration to extend the deadline, claiming that there are self-sponsored students who cannot afford to pay around one hundred thousand in such a short period of time.
