Mung’aro Calls For Peace During The Election Petition

Kilifi Governor-elect Gideon Maitha Mung’aro has asked the general public to observe peace in the country ahead of Azimio versus Kenya Kwanza election petition.

The soft-spoken leader said it was very vital to have both factions of the political divide preach peace citing this country belonged to all of us.

Speaking at Mtwapa’s Miract Church during his bid to give thanks to his electorates across Kilifi county the governor said Kilifi did the right thing to elect him into office as the second Governor of that region.

Mung’aro said Kilifi was among those regions across the country in history that this year’s election was observed with a lot of peace despite the country’s political division.

He said Kenya needs to exercise such kind of political maturity in the future and whenever it conducts its election as everyone needs peace to exercise his freedom.

The governor-elect also thanked his electorates for their choice to elect their members of the county assembly though from different political parties but urged the church to pray for those MCA’s to work united to deliver for the people of the region.

He promised to deliver in his Manifesto that he put public during his campaigns citing he has never let down his people in every leadership portfolio he has assumed.

Kilifi’s outgoing deputy governor Gideon Saburi who had also accompanied him assured of his support to the governor-elect so as to see that the next government performs without any hitches.

Saburi said he admired Mung’aro’s leadership skills and would not hesitate to give him a shoulder whenever need be.

He aswel called for peace and observe patience as the new governments take into shape.
