Mung’aro Flags Off Ksh. 250M Medical Aid

The dream of getting good healthcare in Kilifi County got a boost after Governor Gideon Mung’aro flagged off a Sh250 million worth of medicine

The supplies from Pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical products, laboratory reagents, radiology and Rehabilitation supplies all are shall go to Kilifi’s level four and three hospitals, health centres and dispensaries within the county.

Accompanied by his deputy Flora Chibule, Kenya Medical Supplies Authority chairperson Mary Mwadime, Peter Mwarogo Kilifi’s CEC for health among a host of MCA’s and government officials the governor said he is bound to fulfil his 100 days agenda of better healthcare to his people.

“This consignment will last about four months until March next year before another consignment that will take us up to June before the next financial year,” Mung’aro said.

The governor said he had set aside a total of 400 million budget only for the entire medical supplies this financial year ending June and he was waiting for more consignment to arrive by March next year.

Kenya Medical supplies Authority chairlady Mary Mwadime who had escorted the consignment of 40 trucks to Kilifi lauded efforts by the governor to keep health a priority for Kilifi.

“As we speak now, Kilifi is now ranked among the top three counties in medical uptake from the authority. I want to assure the government of their support and commitment to ensure lives of people from Kilifi are secure,” she said.

She said Kilifi had recently settled a debt of over Sh100 million from the previous pending bill and expressed his satisfaction towards the governor in terms of offsetting medical bills.
