Mung’aro Promises To Revamp Health Sector

Mr Mung'aro said he will build  a new full fledged Kilifi Referral Research and Training medical facility

Kilifi ODM governor candidate Gideon Mung’aro has pledged to revamp the health sector and improve medical services once elected into power.

Mr Mung’aro said that the current situation in the medical sector was devastating with problems ranging from lack of medicine in health facilities, poor working conditions, lack of necessary equipment to detect diseases and laxity from the medical staff.

The former Lands and later Devolution CAS  told residents of Mkenge and Gede that he will equip all hospitals and dispensaries in the county with medicine in his first one hundred days in office.

“The biggest problems that the people of Kilifi are currently facing is lack of drugs and personell. That has forced many of them to  seek medical services in private facilities due to lack of proper services in public amenities,* he said.

Later speaking in a series of rallies in  Jilore and Sabaki within Malindi and Magarini constituencies in his voter campaign program, Mr Mung’aro said he will build  a new full fledged Kilifi Referral Research and Training medical facility that will accommodate all the diseases facing the society in recent days.

“This facility  will accommodate all referral cases across the small medical facilities from the sub-counties and also shall screen and do chemotherapy for cancer patients to reduce the burden of having to travel patients all the way to Mombasa or even Nairobi for screening,* he said.

Mr Mung’aro said it was time for total change and development in Kilifi citing that the outgoing regime had failed the people of Kilifi because of its many corruption scandals other than service delivery.

Mr Mung’aro said health was a very important sector and assured that his agenda is to transform the sector and bring best service to the people.

The Azimio leader in Kilifi County is set to launch his Manifesto this Friday
