Murang’a High School has broken into celebration after one of its candidates posted an outstanding performance in the concluded 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations.
Ryan Karanja Muiru emerged as the school’s top candidate after attaining an impressive mean grade of A- (minus) in the results released by the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC).
The achievement has been hailed by teachers, students and parents as a testament to discipline, consistency and academic excellence.
According to the provisional results, Muiru recorded exceptional scores across a wide range of subjects, reflecting a rare balance between sciences and humanities.

He scored top grades in Chemistry, History and Government and Kiswahili, a combination that educators at the institution say demonstrates both intellectual versatility and strong academic grounding.
The release of the results sparked jubilation at Murang’a High School, with teachers lauding the candidate’s commitment and the school’s academic culture.
School administrators described the performance as a proud moment that reinforces the institution’s long-standing reputation for producing well-rounded achievers.
The results were accessed through KNEC’s newly introduced online portal, which allows candidates and authorised parties to view individual performance details, including subject grades and overall mean scores.
The portal has been designed to enhance transparency and protect candidate data.
As celebrations continue at Murang’a High School, Muiru’s success is being held up as an inspiration to fellow students preparing for future national examinations and as a reflection of the school’s sustained focus on academic excellence.
