Murang’a Rescue Mission Called Off

Rescue activities at the building in Murang’a County, that collapsed last Friday have been suspended.

This follows the two individuals who were believed to be trapped,showed up to the scene.

Stephen Musembi and Benson Ndung’u were among the eight workers at the construction site when the building fell, according to county disaster manager Bilha Wanjiku.

The two had just stepped out of the ill-fated building when it fell on that terrible day.

They are said to have gone home immediately after the event and returned on Monday after receiving information that they were the two remaining workers who had not been found.

On Sunday, the death toll from the disaster climbed to six after one of the workers died of his injuries at Thika Level Five Hospital, where he had been hospitalized.
