Murder Suspect Arrested While ‘Hunting’ Victims

According to police, a suspected serial murderer was apprehended while out looking for new victims.

On Saturday, police in Stockton, California, announced the arrest of a man accused of killing six people in a spree of killings that has shocked the area in Northern California.

Authorities were able to watch a man and stop him in the early hours of Saturday morning thanks to tips and investigation work, according to Stockton Police Chief Stanley McFadden.

The man was dressed in black clothing, wore a mask over his neck, and had a handgun in his possession. He was “on a mission to kill,” McFadden said at a news conference.

Wesley Brownlee, 43, was named as the suspect by McFadden. Authorities claimed earlier this month that forensic ballistics evidence linked the shootings, which began last year and extended into September.

According to Tori Verber Salazar, the county’s district attorney, the suspect will appear in court on Tuesday after the San Joaquin County District Attorney’s office reviews the evidence.

Six people were murdered, with the exception of one in Stockton.

The first victim was gunned down on April 10th, with instances continuing until the most recent murder on September 27th.

Another woman would have become the killer’s seventh fatal victim, but she escaped with minor injuries.
