Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetang’ula and Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi will campaign for Ford Kenya candidate Wafula Wakoli in the run-up to the Bungoma senatorial byelections.
Wetang’ula said in a statement on Saturday that he is confident the Simba party will win the Bungoma senatorial seat.
“Musalia Mudavadi and I will be touring Bungoma’s nine constituencies, rallying support for Lion’s Party candidate Mwalimu David Wafula Wakoli. The Simba party holds the Bungoma Senate seat! “He stated.
Ford Kenya is led by Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetang’ula, who resigned from his Bungoma seat after being elected Speaker.
Wakoli worked as a teacher and Wetang’ula’s personal aide for many years.
The Azimio camp is backing DAP-K party leader Wafula Wamunyinyi in his bid to unseat Kenya Kwanza.
UDA party fronted ex-Bumula MP Mwambu Mabonga for the seat.
The Bungoma by-election will take place on December 8.
Jacob Machacha Majembe, an ally of former Cabinet minister Fred Gumo, and Bishop Harman Kasili, chairman of the Lake Region Economic Bloc private sector organizations, are also candidates in the Bungoma race.
