Chama Cha Uzalendo Party Leader Nzioka Waita has eulogized President Mwai Kibaki as a distinguished Economist, Statesman, and Pan-African leader.
In a deeply worded statement, the Machakos governor aspirant said Kibaki distinguished himself in his selfless patriotism and commitment to national development.
“In my mind, Kibaki leaves an indelible mark as a steadfast and visionary national leader who provided much-needed support for the formulation of an enabling environment; to guide the growth of the local mobile telephony market. He provided immense support that allowed the adoption and transition of technologies that enable us to enjoy an almost 99% mobile coverage in Kenya today,” Nzioka condoled.
The Former State House Chief of Staff also added that the former President’s wise words of counsel, leadership acumen, and commitment to excellence will continue to act as priceless investments to the future success of Kenya.
“We shall forever remain indebted to him for his contribution to the new constitution’s national development and transformation plan and underpinned by the Vision 2030 National Development Plan,” he said.
He also urged his supporters to pray to the Almighty to grant Kibaki’s family strength and fortitude during this trying moment.
“On behalf of my family, Machakos County supporters, and Chama Cha Uzalendo (CCU) members, even as we convey our sincere message of condolences, we also pray that the Almighty will grant you strength and fortitude during this trying moment,” he added.
Mwai Kibaki’s death was announced by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
