Residents of the Alia Mwatate constituency now want in-depth consultations with the Kws about Wildlife Conservation Agency, which was established in the area.
They have accused the KWS department of stealing their land by erecting fences under the guise of preventing elephants from entering human settlements and causing conflict between humans and animals.
They argue that if KWS’s intention is to prevent elephants, they should not invade their land.
They have asked local authorities to protect them because elephants are destroying their crops and putting them in danger of being attacked.
