On the evening of Saturday, 12th June 2021, life changed forever for Jane Gatwiri.
Her son, ex-military officer Mwenda Mbijiwe, was allegedly abducted at Roysambu along Thika Superhighway while on his way home to Meru.
That was the last time she heard from him.
Today, it has been four years, three months, and six days since his disappearance.
For Gatwiri, every sunrise is a painful reminder that her son remains missing, his fate shrouded in mystery.
Speaking out with deep anguish, Gatwiri claims that powerful forces have worked to silence her.
She alleges that after meeting with officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and accessing her son’s case file, individuals were sent to kill her.
Despite the threats, she continues to demand answers, holding firmly to the belief that her son is still alive.
She hopes that the presiding judge will give orders for her son to be released, a decision she believes could finally end her family’s long nightmare.
