My Net Worth is KES 500 Million – Ababu Namwamba

    Ababu Namwamba, Kenya’s nominee for Permanent Representative to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), has disclosed his net worth at Ksh.500 million.

    uring his vetting before the National Assembly Committee on Defence, Intelligence, and Foreign Relations on Friday.

    Namwamba revealed that his wealth comprises residential properties, business interests, shareholdings, and pension.

    His current net worth marks an increase of Ksh.75 million from two years ago, when he declared Ksh.425 million while being vetted for the position of Sports Cabinet Secretary.

    “I own two residences in Nairobi and Busia, along with business interests, shareholdings, and a pension. Together, these amount to Ksh.500 million,” Namwamba shared.

    He refrained from detailing exact dividends but disclosed that his investments include stakes in major firms such as Safaricom, Cooperative Bank, and Kenya Power.

    “I have interests in Safaricom, Coop Bank, and Kenya Power.

    While I have indicated my income expectations, it’s challenging to provide specific dividend details as they vary across cycles,” he explained.

    Namwamba emphasized his readiness for the UNEP role, describing himself as tailor-made to represent Kenya on the global stage.
