My Net Worth Is Sh645 Million – ICT Nominee Owalo

Eliud Owalo, the nominee for Information Communications and Digital Economy Cabinet Secretary position says he is worth Sh645 million.

“My house in Nairobi is worth Sh120 million. My residential house upcountry is worth Sh70 million, I own land upcountry worth Sh200 million, Four cars worth about Sh15 million,” Owalo said when he appeared before the National Assembly Committee on appointments.

“A hotel facility not fully complete but is Sh80 million as at now, though based on the bill of quantities upon completion, it is worth Sh293 million.”

“I have ventured heavily into commercial tree planting and as at now I estimate the value proposition is Sh160 million. This comes to a sum total 645 million.”

Owalo was a linchpin in President Ruto’s presidential campaign secretariat mandated to lead a key pillar central to the implementation of Kenya Kwanza’s agenda.

As the Cabinet Secretary for ICT, Owalo will be central in pushing the country’s digital transformation plan.

If approved, he will take over from Joseph Mucheru who has held the position for six years and 11 months since December 2015.
