A mysterious fire on Wednesday morning ravaged a furniture shop in the Kasarani area along the Thika Superhighway, destroying property worth an unknown value.
The blaze, which erupted mid-morning, swiftly engulfed the Bed Place shop, wiping out the entire business.
Witnesses reported that the fire spread quickly, threatening nearby shops. Local residents sprang into action, launching a rescue operation as the flames intensified.
Videos circulating show a crowd gathering at the scene, with rescue efforts underway.
Emergency response teams, including Kenya Red Cross officials, were dispatched to the site to assist in extinguishing the fire and provide first aid to those injured.
“A fire incident has been reported at Bed Palace along Thika Road. Response teams en route to the scene,” confirmed the Kenya Red Cross Society.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, and police had yet to arrive at the scene at the time of this report.
This is not the first time the shop has been affected by fire. On December 8 last year, a similar incident occurred, also resulting in the loss of property of unknown value.
The recurring nature of these fires has raised concerns among local residents and business owners.
