Dr Naim Bilal Yassin (Aka Makau Niko) has won the first round in a bruising battle with former ICT Minister Joe Mucheru.
Naim, who has been on secondment from The Ministry of Information, Youth and ICT since 2019 protested in Employment and Labour Court CS Mucheru’s decision not to renew his contract.
This followed the successful validation and evaluation of his performance by the KBC board in September 2021.
According to documents filed in court, Naim term was supposed to be renewed for a further 3 years.
The Employment Court heard that Mucheru failed, neglected, connived or canvassed to deny Naim his right to serve a second term as the MD of the Corporation
Before his appointment as KBC MD, Naim served as Mucheru’s Director of Information.
The war between Naim and Mucheru took a new twist in September when the Ministry accused him of abdicating duty
The Letter accuses Naim of failing to report to the Ministry after his tour of duty to KBC. It is not clear if Naim responded to the letter. Or the disciplinary threat.
Naim joined KBC in 2019. He is credited for turning around the corporation.
