The Employment and Labour Court has barred Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) from hiring a new Managing Director.
The case, cited as E19 of 2022 was ruled in favour of Dr Naim Bilal Yaseen, aka Makau Niko.
Dr. Yaseen had petitioned the court after former CS Joe Mucheru refused to renew his term after the KBC Board recommended the renewal.
Mucheru and the ICT Ministry are represented on the board.
ICT CS Eliud Owalo has been ordered to reinstate Dr Naim to KBC. However, KBC unionised employees have rejected a Dr Naim come back.
