Fight For Water In City Estate Leaves One Dead

The suspect, only identified as Issa, went into hiding immediately after killing Abdifatah Hassan Barre with a Somali sword.

Detectives based at DCI Starehe have launched a manhunt for a suspect who attacked and killed a 51-year-old man on the spot.

This occurred following a disagreement over water supply in an Eastleigh apartment.

The suspect, only identified as Issa, went into hiding immediately after killing Abdifatah Hassan Barre with a Somali sword.

According to the deceased’s son, Mohamud Hassan, his father was asked by a client to supply water using his water bowser at an establishment near Almin Hospital in Eastleigh.

Upon arrival, however, the deceased and his son were met by a group of business rivals who claimed the duo had infringed on their ‘territory’ of water vending. A heated exchange of words ensued before the suspect reached for a Somali Sword and struck the deceased on the left side of his chest with a powerful thrust.

The suspect then fled the scene, heading somewhere unknown. Attempts to save the man’s life by rushing him to the hospital were futile, as he was confirmed to have died as a result of the injury.

Detectives are however following critical leads on the suspects’ whereabouts in order to bring him to justice.
