Senators To Probe The State Of City Mortuary

Senators have launched an investigation into the condition of the City Mortuary.

The senators want to determine the mortuary’s optimal capacity and its ability to handle the number of bodies received on a daily basis.

They also want to know how many morticians work at the facility, as well as their qualifications, pay, and training.

The Senate’s Health Committee, chaired by Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandagor, is expected to acquire information about any processes in place to evaluate and monitor staff to ensure that they are providing high-quality services and upholding ethical standards in their work.

Marsabit Senator Mohamed Chute said, “The committee will undertake a visit to the facility to ascertain the state of operations, including whether there are any plans to expand or upgrade the mortuary’s facilities or equipment,”

During the visit, the committee should be able to determine the amount of public funds received by the facility for the last two years.
