Police officers have made an arrest following a ‘spree’ of gunpoint robberies within Nairobi county.
George Gitau, 30, and Terryann Kabura, 27, are believed to be a married couple and are suspected of carrying out a series of robberies in the city.
According to a police OB report, Gitau, who is suspected of being the mastermind of the crimes and is always carrying a firearm, was arrested by undercover officers along Desai Road in Ngara.
According to the police report, he did not have his firearm on him at the time of his arrest, but when questioned, he admitted that his pistol was at his home, which he shares with his wife.
The suspect called his wife and asked her to bring the pistol to the police station.
At that point, Kaburawho, the wife, arrived with a Walther pistol that was loaded with 12 rounds of 9mm.
She was immediately arrested and the firearm and two mobile phones were confiscated.
