A teacher at a top private primary school in Nairobi was arrested on Wednesday on allegations of defiling his neighbour’s 14-year-old daughter.
The child, a Standard Seven pupil at a different primary school, had yet to understand the gravity of the situation after the suspect convinced her that whatever they were doing was right, to the point where she told her parents that they were interfering in her “relationship.”
The man is married with two children, one of whom is fifteen and the other is seven.
The girl’s mother stated that she had repeatedly warned her daughter not to go to the man’s house.
The girl frequently claimed she went to the suspect’s house to play with his children or do schoolwork.
The abuse could have gone unnoticed if the girl’s younger sibling had not asked their mother for assistance in connecting their iPad to their home’s Wi-Fi.
While adjusting the settings, the mother unknowingly opened the browser and was surprised to see the history of the pages her daughter had visited. The girl had used Facebook Messenger to communicate with the suspect on a regular basis.
The teacher, well aware that what he was doing was wrong, would delete his text messages as soon as the young girl replied. The child, on the other hand, had no reason to do so and preserved all of her messages.
The Nation obtained text messages in which the child inquired about the man’s wife and her own mother. The child also addressed the suspect with sweet names, even calling him “dad.”
In some messages, the child calls the teacher a liar for saying he loves her while still having a wife.
In another conversation, the teenager asks the man if he loves her mother and even requests that he call her mother and tell her that he loves her.
In yet another message, the child tells the teacher not to call her because her father is awake and she is unable to visit him.
