20 Suffer Injuries As Matatu Rams Mlolongo Expressway Exit

Motorists and toll attendants assisted police officers to rescue those injured, who have since been rushed to nearby health centres.

Twenty people have been injured in a fatal accident at the Nairobi Expressway after a passenger bus crashed into a vehicle and toll booths.

Witnesses say the Kitengela-bound bus, registered under Embassava SACCO, collided with a private car, which was waiting for clearance at the exit.

The Kenya National Highways Authority confirmed the evening incident.

This is the second accident in less than a week.

Other motorists and toll attendants assisted police officers to rescue those injured, who have since been rushed to nearby health centres.

In a statement, KENHA asked motorists to avoid the area.

“Motorists are advised to exit/enter the Expressway at the Syokimau Toll Station, even as rescue efforts are underway at the scene of the accident.”
