Nairobi Governor Sonko summoned over Ksh. 10 Million bribe

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has been directed to appear in court on Monday next week to over new corruption charges.

He was summoned by the Anti-Corruption Court chief Magistrate Douglas Ogoti.

Governor Sonko is expected to plead over charges which he demanded Sh 10 million bribe from Web Tribe Limited to process payments by the county.

Sonko is facing a total of 19 charges, with the prosecution claiming that he conspired with business people and senior county government officials to embezzle more than Sh300 million from the county coffers.

Sonko’s troubles started with a dramatic arrest on December 6. He was locked out from office on 11th December 2019.
