The Nairobi Hospital Board has appointed Dr. Barcley Onyambu as its new Chairman, marking a fresh chapter in leadership focused on strengthening governance and ethical standards.
In a statement on March 10, the Board said Dr. Onyambu has been a Board member since 2024 and has chaired key committees, including Human Resources, Infrastructure, and Audit & Risk.
Dr. Onyambu is a seasoned obstetrician and gynecologist with extensive experience in healthcare governance.
He holds a Master of Medicine in Obstetrics and Gynecology and has advanced training in healthcare management from Strathmore University.
“His appointment reflects the Board’s commitment to continuous improvement and upholding the highest standards in healthcare delivery,” reads part of the statement.
The Board extended its gratitude to the immediate former Chairman, Dr. Chris M. N. Bichage, PhD, for his dedicated service and leadership over the past year and a half.
