On Tuesday, November 26, in the afternoon, Dr. Mutubwa passed out in his Nairobi office after complaining of pain. According to his friends and relatives, the cause of his death is still unknown.
As they took a quick break at the workplace close to Nairobi Hospital, he passed out while participating in a virtual court session. Dr. Mutubwa served as dean at the Mount Kenya University School of Law.
As the Chairman of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators – Kenya, he was also an advocate for Alternative Dispute Resolution.
He was actively involved in the continuing conflict at Nairobi Hospital and was working to find a solution.
As a devoted and diligent attorney, his colleagues lamented his passing.
A respected member of the legal profession has passed away, according to Faith Odhiambo, president of the Law Society of Kenya.
She also said As the Chairman of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators-Kenya, Dr. Mutubwa had a distinguished career as a distinguished practitioner, scholar, and advocate for ADR.
“Through his notable work in ADR, Dr. Mutubwa earned a place as a member of the Permanent Court of Arbitration in the Hague and led groundbreaking efforts in enhancing the place of Arbitration in Kenya’s justice system.”
“The great success he achieved in his brief but impactful time as the dean at MKU School Of Law is a testament to his unreserved commitment to mentorship and growth of the legal profession, “She expressed her sympathies.
Awaiting an autopsy and other tests, the body was taken to the mortuary.
The MKU fraternity lamented Dr. Mutubwa’s passing as well.
