Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja met with five newly appointed Chief Officers at City Hall today.
The Chief Officers were recently vetted and approved by the County Assembly.
Governor Sakaja congratulated the appointees – Gladwell Cheruiyot (Food, Agriculture & Natural Resources), Amina Mohammed (Wellness, Nutrition & School Feeding), David Oyole (Digital Economy & Startups), Bernard Muia (Boroughs & Subcounty Administration), and Machel Waikenda (Economic Affairs) – on their merit-based selections.
He stressed collaboration between the Chief Officers, County Executive Committee Members, and other departmental officers. Their primary focus, he emphasized, should be delivering excellent services to Nairobi residents.
The Governor highlighted the importance of familiarization. He urged the Chief Officers to study the county’s manifesto to understand their roles and responsibilities in fulfilling its promises.
“I welcome you all,” Governor Sakaja stated. “Take time to get acquainted with our manifesto and the pressing tasks ahead. Remember, our focus is service delivery aligned with the promises we made to the people of Nairobi.”
