One person died and four others were seriously injured following a head-on collision between a trailer and a lorry on the busy Nakuru-Eldoret Highway.
The accident happened near the Twin area of Kuresoi South, which locals have labeled a “blackspot” due to a recent spate of accidents.
According to witnesses, the trailer’s driver appeared to lose control due to the ongoing heavy rains and collided with an oncoming lorry on the opposite side as he descended a hill.
Mau Summit traffic officers arrived shortly after the accident and coordinated the removal of the wreckage from the two vehicles.
The injured were taken to Molo Subcounty Hospital and Nakuru Level V Hospital, while the deceased’s body was transferred to the Molo Subcounty Hospital mortuary.
