On Thursday morning, the Nakuru County Assembly approved the names of 23 Chief Officers.

This is despite a court order barring the process pending the outcome of a case filed by lawyer Allan Kibet.

Governor Susan Kihika tweeted on Thursday that the Assembly had approved her nominees for Chief Officer positions in various dockets.

“The County Assembly of Nakuru has approved the following candidates for Chief Officer Positions. H.E. the Governor has since appointed them as Chief Officers, with effect from today “Kihika tweeted from her verified account.

Following an application filed by Michael Oduor, Judge David Nderitu of the Employment and Labour Relations Court issued orders halting the vetting and/or approval of 21 Chief Officer nominees.

The nomination of ten County Executive Committee members by Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika was quashed by the Employment and Labour Relations Court in Nakuru.
