The Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Sports and Arts Ababu Namwamba on Tuesday, November 1, unveiled the air quality management sensors at LOBO Village, Eldoret.
The CS spoke of the significance of air quality to athletes’ peak performance. He also cautioned the athletes against doping, warning of dire consequences to perpetrators.
“The launch of the air monitoring equipment signifies our commitment to athletes, towards ensuring that we give priority to their health for maximum performance. With the clean air provision, it is incumbent upon you to run clean devoid of doping,” Namwamba stated.
The CS was accompanied by Uasin Gishu governor Hon. Jonathan Bii, Athletics Kenya President Gen. Jackson Tuwei, legendary Marathon champion and Hall of Fame inductee Mr. Ibrahim Hussein and current world leader in 1500M faith kipyegon among others.
