Senator Cherargei appeared before Magistrate Micheni Wendy of Milimani Law courts to answer an order where the court tasked him together with his Lawyer Mr. Okubasu to apologize.
This came after the court had previously ruled that the two failed to maintain decorum during court proceedings in a case where the Senator is charged with Ethnic contempt.
“Your honor, I do apologize to the court and do assure you that I will cooperate to ensure this comes to conclusion,” said the Senator in apology.
Mr. Chris was ordered to give a formal apology before the court for absconding after the court noted that his non-attendance was inexcusable.
Mr. Okubasu too, who is representing the Senator in the case tendered his apology in response to the order issued by the court for misleading his client not to attend court proceedings.
The court proceeded to lift the warrant of arrest against the said Senator after his formal apology.
The Ethnic contempt case against the Senator is set to proceed on May 19, 2022.
