As part of its sustainability commitments,
the National Commercial Bank of Africa (NCBA) today inked a Sh6.7 billion
(USD50 million) loan to support green financing and women’s economic
development in Kenya.
Proparco, an AFD Group company that
specialises in fundraising and private sector development, will supply the
funds intended to carry out the NCBA’s “Change the Story”
sustainability initiative.
Alter Established in the previous year, the
Story platform is supported by five strategic pillars and fifteen audacious
commitments, such as raising Sh30 billion for Green and Sustainable Financing,
allocating at least thirty percent of general services procurement funds to
women and youth, and advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion, among other
measures.
