Ndenderu MCA Hospitalized After Injury Over One Man-One Shilling Debate

Ndenderu Member of the County Assembly (MCA) David Mwaura has been admitted after two groups clashed over the resource-sharing formula.

Mwaura was rushed to a hospital in Ruaka after he was roughed up by goons opposing the one-man, one-vote, one-shilling revenue allocation system.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has been a champion of the formula despite facing criticism from leaders in his Mt Kenya bastion.

The MCA was expelled from the meeting held to launch Kiambaa Technical Training before Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah could deliver his speech.

The Majority Leader was accompanied by a section of Kiambu leaders who opposed the formula that has been described by others to be tribalistic.

In videos shared online, the county lawmaker can be seen trying to fight his way through a charged crowd as the other leaders watch.

The MCA suffered head and rib injuries as the crowd cheered, attacking him over his divergent views as 11 MPs from Kiambu watched.

Mwaura revealed that he was knocked down to the ground where the rowdy youths allegedly trampled on him.

“I’ve been hit in the ribs and also on the head. I was knocked to the ground, kicked in the legs, and trampled while I was down,” he said.
