Three dormitories at Matungulu Boys High School in Kangundo Sub-county were destroyed by a fire that broke out in the early hours of the morning. The cause of the inferno has not yet been established.
The fire reduced mattresses, blankets, school uniforms, and other students’ personal belongings to ashes, leaving significant losses. At least 15 students were injured during the incident.
Medics from Kangundo Level 4 Hospital rushed to the school and treated 10 students on site. Five others sustained serious injuries and are being transferred to Kangundo Hospital for further treatment.
Authorities have launched investigations into the cause of the fire as emergency response efforts continue at the school.
