Ngilu Banks On Wiper To Retain Seat

Charity Ngilu is the only Ukambani Governor eligible to run for office in August 2022.

Ngilu has since 2007 run for elective office on her own political party.

This has afforded her time to plan and stay away from Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka and earlier ODM Kenya.

The Governor ballot in Kitui will have familiar faces.

The ever-green David Musila. Her neighbor Dr. Julius Malombe. Her political pupil Kiema Kilonzo. And another neighbor Dr. Mueke.

On paper, these are formidable names. On political demographics and sense, Musila is the man to beat.

Now Musila thinks larger Mwingi votes, the Kalonzo factor, and a running mate from Kitui will secure him a seat.

Maybe. Could be a pipe dream.

Ngilu will hope to vanquish her neighbors and run away with Kitui Central, Kitui Rural, Kitui West, Kitui East votes.

She doesn’t care about Wiper and Kalonzo’s influence. She will allow the Wiper political dogs to chew each other and bloody themselves before 8th August.

Malombe and Musila did in 2017. Ngilu whitewashed them in broad daylight. Ngilu’s walking nightmare was Senator Enock Wambua.

But he elected to concentrate on his seat. Leaving Ngilu to breathe. Kitui voters are predictable. They will dance themselves lame on excuses and vote in a Governor who on paper is not the most popular.

Kalonzo will not care who becomes Governor among those vying for it. Because whoever is elected will not pay him homage as the leader of the Kamba community.

And so he will concentrate on getting as many Wiper MPs as possible to make it possible to negotiate a post-election political deal.

He still has a chance in 2022 as the 5th President if Raila or Ruto can say Kalonzo Tosha.
