No permanent enemy in politics, just self interest

President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga did spend many years fighting each other. They were the biggest political rivals in the 2013 and 2017 general elections. The bad thing for Raila Odinga is that in all those elections, he was beaten by Uhuru and in all those elections, the former Prime Minister went to the Supreme Court to seek for justice because every time, he felt he was rigged out.

In 2017, Raila Odinga managed to overturn the presidential results through the Supreme Court but still ended up on the losing side when the election was repeated. What came after is a story for another day but at the end, both Uhuru and Raila were sworn in as Presidents. The former being the President of the Republic while the latter claimed to be the President of the people. The good thing is that the two Presidents finally joined together through the handshake to bring peace in the falling nation.

Since the handshake, President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM party leader Raila Odinga have been working well together. They have been working as brothers rather than as a President and a leader of opposition. Things have always been good for a period of time now but today, things turn ugly after one of Raila Odinga’s allies known as Peter Kaluma doing the unexpected.

Through his official twitter account, Peter Kaluma who has been praising President Uhuru Kenyatta for a period of time now made a u-turn as he sent a tough morning message to President Uhuru Kenyatta. According to the powerful legislator, the Head of State needs to open churches and worship centres in the country. Kaluma claimed that it doesn’t make sense closing the worship places when some politicians are holding rallies.

“Why should churches and places of worship be closed for covid-19 when some politicians are holding rallies with such impunity! Open churches and worship centres!” Tweeted Peter Kaluma.
