Nursing Student and TikTok Star Fatally Stabbed by Roommate After Dispute Over a Cat

What began as a domestic disagreement between roommates over pet cats ended in a gruesome tragedy when a 23-year-old British nursing student, Elizabeth Tamilore Odunsi, was fatally stabbed in her Houston apartment.

Odunsi, who had moved from England to pursue her nursing degree, was just days away from graduation. Her life was cut short on April 26 when her roommate of two months, Chester Grant, 40, allegedly stabbed her multiple times following a simmering argument about the cats they shared in their Goforth Street residence.

According to Houston police, tensions over pet ownership escalated over several days before culminating in the fatal confrontation. Odunsi was found lying unresponsive on the kitchen floor, suffering from multiple stab wounds. Grant, in an apparent suicide attempt, reportedly inflicted six stab wounds on himself, including one to his neck.

After being treated in hospital, Grant was charged and presented in probable cause court on Saturday. He is currently held at the Harris County Jail on a $500,000 bond and is expected back in court Monday.

The case has shocked both local residents and Odunsi’s family and friends in the UK. Authorities continue to collect surveillance footage and interview witnesses to piece together the full circumstances surrounding the killing.

Odunsi’s dream of becoming a nurse was tragically cut short, turning what should have been a time of celebration into one of mourning.
