Nvidia Debuts AI ‘Reasoning’ Technology for Autonomous Vehicles

"Alpamayo brings reasoning to autonomous vehicles," Huang announced on stage at the annual CES technology conference in Las Vegas. "It allows them to think through rare scenarios, drive safely in complex environments, and explain their driving decisions."

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang unveiled a new technology platform called Alpamayo on Monday, which the company claims will enable self-driving cars to think and reason more like humans.

Huang also revealed that Nvidia, in partnership with Mercedes-Benz, has begun production on a driverless version of the Mercedes CLA sedan powered by its autonomous platform. The vehicle is scheduled for release in the U.S. in the coming months, with subsequent rollouts planned for Europe and Asia.
